Practical overview
When it fits
Use AgentTube when you want a configurable, locally hosted workflow for producing and managing YouTube content, and can supply the required YouTube and AI-provider credentials.
Who it is for
- YouTube channel operators who want to coordinate research, video production and publishing in one self-hosted workflow.
- Developers or technically equipped creators prepared to configure YouTube OAuth and AI-provider credentials.
Documented uses
- Research topics and turn a channel strategy into content plans and scripts.
- Generate narration and visuals, then assemble video assets.
- Prepare metadata and route productions through review before scheduling or publishing.
- Use channel analytics and audience feedback to inform subsequent content work.
Requirements & limits
The project is open source under the MIT license. The README specifies Node.js 18 or later and local setup; it does not document a hosted service.
- YouTube Data API v3 access and a Google Cloud OAuth 2.0 Desktop app client are required.
- At least one AI text-provider credential must be configured; the README lists Gemini, OpenAI, OpenRouter, Kimi, MiMo and GLM options.
- Video-generation and premium text-to-speech providers are separately configurable; the README also lists a slideshow video mode.
- The default workflow requires quality, rights and human-review gates before scheduling.
- The production-readiness check makes small live text and narration requests and verifies channel access, but does not create or upload a video.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Compare options for Agent orchestration
These projects document a common task and share a project role. This is a source-based comparison, not an execution benchmark or a guarantee of interchangeability.
