Practical overview
When it fits
Use Moneda when a terminal-based price view is more useful than opening a separate interface, especially for a small multi-coin watchlist or a selected currency display.
Who it is for
- People who want to check cryptocurrency prices from a terminal.
- Users tracking multiple coins or viewing prices in a selected currency.
Documented uses
- Display price data for one or several selected cryptocurrencies.
- View coin prices in a different currency, such as EUR, GBP or JPY.
- Adjust how frequently price data refreshes.
Requirements & limits
The documented installation uses npm, and the project requires Node.js 22.0.0 or later. The public repository identifies an MIT license.
- Coin support differs by source: seven listed coins are supported across all three sources, while Cardano, Stellar, IOTA and additional coins are listed through CoinGecko.
- The default refresh interval is 30 seconds and can be changed using the
-soption. - The documented interface is a command-line application.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
