Flowyieldvaults

FlowYieldVaults is a set of Cadence smart contracts for creating token vault positions in DeFi strategies on the Flow network. Its contracts include strategy interfaces and factories, user vault-position resources, strategy implementations, and AutoBalancer mechanisms. The documented TracerStrategy uses FlowALP collateralized borrowing and describes automated token rebalancing.

Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when developing contract-level Flow vaults or examining a documented FlowALP strategy that combines collateralized borrowing, yield tokens and rebalancing.

Who it is for

  • Cadence developers building or adapting yield vault contracts on Flow
  • Flow DeFi builders working with lending strategies and automated vault rebalancing

Documented uses

  • Create a yield-vault position associated with a strategy.
  • Deposit additional funds, withdraw funds, or close a vault position.
  • Compose strategy implementations using the project's strategy interfaces and factories.
  • Use the TracerStrategy design to connect FlowALP collateralized borrowing with token swaps and rebalancing.

Requirements & limits

The public GitHub repository is identified as open source and lists the Unlicense. The README provides dependency setup instructions and points to local emulator development resources.

  • This is a smart-contract repository, not a documented end-user vault interface.
  • The example TracerStrategy relies on FlowALP, MOET, YieldToken and Flow DeFi Actions components.
  • The AutoBalancer's documented lower and upper thresholds are 0.95 and 1.05; lending-position collateral rebalancing is a separate mechanism.
  • Mock oracle and swapper contracts are described for testing and demonstrations.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Prepare the FlowYieldVaults development dependencies

Initialize the repository's submodules and install its Flow dependencies.

Before you start

  • A local checkout of the FlowYieldVaults repository
  • The Flow CLI, which the repository uses for dependency installation and configuration

Steps

  1. Initialize the Git submodules with the command below.

    Documented command
    git submodule update --init --recursive
  2. Install project dependencies with flow deps install.

Expected outcome

The repository submodules are initialized and Flow project dependencies are installed.

Guide limitations

  • These steps cover dependency setup only, not contract deployment or running a vault strategy.
  • The README identifies a local emulator setup script and Flow CLI configuration as further development resources.
