Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when reviewing or extending contract-level Ethereum flash-loan benchmarks and when the reported test configuration is relevant to your comparison.
Who it is for
- Ethereum smart-contract developers studying flash-loan implementations
- Researchers comparing reported function gas use and contract deployment metrics
Documented uses
- Compare reported gas statistics for selected flash-loan functions.
- Inspect deployment costs and contract sizes across implementations.
- Review provider fee examples alongside benchmark results.
Requirements & limits
- The README's reported test command uses an Ethereum fork RPC URL and 10 optimizer runs.
- Results include per-function min, average, median and max gas, call counts, deployment cost and contract size.
- Fee examples vary: Aave is shown with a WETH fee, Balancer and Euler are labeled free, and Uniswap examples list fee rates.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Run the documented fork-test gas report
Reproduce the README's stated Foundry test and gas-report procedure.
Before you start
- The Flash Loans Comparison repository
- Foundry's forge command
- An Ethereum fork RPC URL available as ETH_RPC_URL
Steps
Set ETH_RPC_URL to an Ethereum RPC URL suitable for fork testing.
From the repository, run forge test --fork-url $ETH_RPC_URL --gas-report --optimize --optimizer-runs 10.
Expected outcome
Foundry test output with a gas report using the optimization settings shown in the README.
Guide limitations
- The README's provider figures are reported results; running the command does not guarantee identical numbers.
- The README does not specify a particular RPC provider or benchmark block.
