Practical overview
When it fits
Use Silius when developing or operating an ERC-4337 account-abstraction service and you can provide the required execution-client JSON-RPC connection and Rust environment.
Who it is for
- Teams building wallets or other products that use ERC-4337 account abstraction.
- Developers who need to operate or prototype bundler infrastructure for supported EVM networks.
Documented uses
- Run a combined bundler node with a user-operation pool and JSON-RPC API.
- Operate the bundler, user-operation pool or JSON-RPC component separately.
- Connect bundler infrastructure to an Ethereum execution client configured with debug_traceCall.
Requirements & limits
The repository is public and specifies an Apache-2.0 license.
- Native setup requires Rust 1.81.0, specified Linux dependencies, Solidity and Cargo tools.
- The connected Ethereum execution client must expose JSON-RPC with debug_traceCall enabled.
- The README lists support across several EVM networks but warns that other EVM networks may have problems, including layer-2 gas-calculation differences.
- The project describes itself as under active development.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Prepare and start a native Silius bundler node
Set up the documented third-party dependencies, create a bundler wallet and start the combined node with an execution client.
Before you start
- Rust 1.81.0
- On Debian or Ubuntu: libclang-dev, pkg-config and libssl-dev
- Ethereum execution client JSON-RPC with debug_traceCall enabled
- solc, cargo-sort and cargo-udeps
Steps
Fetch and set up the ERC-4337 smart-contract and bundler-test dependencies with make fetch-thirdparty and make setup-thirdparty.
Create a wallet using cargo run --release -- create-wallet --output-path ${HOME}/.silius --chain-id 5.
Start the node with cargo run --release -- node, supplying the execution-client address, mnemonic-file, beneficiary and entry-points arguments; add --http and --ws to enable those interfaces.
Expected outcome
The documented command starts a combined Silius node with a user-operation pool and JSON-RPC API.
Guide limitations
- The example uses local execution-client addresses and example wallet and entry-point values; configure these for the intended environment.
- The README describes the project as under active development.
- The documented requirements and commands are setup guidance, not a guarantee of successful operation in a particular environment.
