Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when a Solana arbitrage application needs an on-chain profit threshold check to guard against price changes between identifying an opportunity and submitting the trade.
Who it is for
- Developers building off-chain arbitrage applications that submit transactions on Solana.
- Solana integrators who need a minimum-profit check within an arbitrage transaction flow.
Documented uses
- Set a minimum acceptable profit for an arbitrage transaction.
- Pass the threshold and starting balance to the program as instruction data.
- Revert a transaction when the checked profit is below the threshold.
- Review transaction logs to distinguish successful checks from failed threshold checks.
Requirements & limits
- It is a transaction-checking program, not an arbitrage discovery tool or standalone bot.
- The integration passes
min_profitandcurrent_balanceasu64values and requires the specified accounts, including a signing payer. - The checked account supports native SOL or wrapped SOL, according to the repository instructions.
- The program uses native Rust rather than Anchor.
- Fee collection is not enabled by default; adding it requires developer work to validate the fee-recipient account.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Build and deploy the Solana program
Compile the repository’s Rust program and deploy it to the Solana network selected in the Solana CLI configuration.
Before you start
- The project repository and its Makefile
- Solana CLI configuration for the intended network, with a keypair configured
- SOL to pay deployment costs
Steps
Configure the Solana CLI for the network where the program should be deployed.
Run the command below from the repository; the documented output is a
target/deploydirectory containing the compiled.sofile and a program-account JSON file.make buildRun the command below to deploy to the configured Solana network.
make deploy
Expected outcome
A compiled program artifact and, after deployment, a program deployed to the configured Solana network.
Guide limitations
- Deployment costs SOL.
- The documented commands cover compilation and deployment, not construction or execution of a complete arbitrage transaction.
