GoLive

GoLive is an open-source Agent Skill and Node CLI that helps coding agents identify an application's deployment requirements, plan provider changes, apply approved configuration and verify observable results. It works with the user's provider accounts and can record created resources, check for drift and support teardown.

Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use GoLive when a coding agent has built an application and you need help coordinating its hosting and connected services through your own provider accounts, with a plan-and-approval stage before writes.

Who it is for

  • Developers using coding agents to prepare an application for deployment.
  • Teams that want a reviewable plan before an agent changes hosting or connected-service configuration.

Documented uses

  • Identify hosting, database, authentication, domain, email and payment needs for an application.
  • Plan provider setup, review and approve changes, then apply and verify them.
  • Record created resources, check for configuration drift, or remove resources that GoLive can prove it created.
Before you choose

Requirements & limits

The project is open source under the MIT license. Installation prerequisites are Node.js 20 or later, npm/npx, Git and a coding agent able to load skills and run commands. The README says installation has been checked for Codex and Claude Code; other clients are unverified.

  • The documented tool is an Agent Skill plus a zero-dependency Node CLI, not a hosted deployment service.
  • The workflow uses the user's own provider accounts; the project says it has no GoLive account, hosted backend or product telemetry.
  • Writes require approval tied to a plan; DNS changes, deletions and live-mode actions have additional confirmation requirements.
  • The README identifies the project as early alpha and lists specific tested provider journeys rather than claiming broad provider coverage.
  • Teardown is limited to resources GoLive can prove it created; some resources may require manual removal.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Install the GoLive skill for Codex or Claude Code

Add the GoLive skill globally so a supported coding agent can use it across projects.

Before you start

  • Node.js 20 or later
  • npm/npx and Git
  • Codex or Claude Code

Steps

  1. Run the documented npx skills add command for the GoLive repository, selecting Codex or Claude Code as the agent and keeping the --global option.

  2. Alternatively, use the agent-specific command with --agent codex --yes or --agent claude-code --yes.

  3. If prompted to choose an agent, select it with the arrow keys, press Space, then Enter to confirm.

Expected outcome

The GoLive skill is installed globally for the selected agent.

Guide limitations

  • Installation is checked for Codex and Claude Code; other clients are unverified.
  • This guide covers installation only, not deploying an application.
