Source-based practical guide

Prepare and build the extension

Set up the repository and create a development or production build.

Before you start

  • Node.js v22.12.0
  • npm 10.5.0
  • Yarn 1.22.19
  • React 17.x
  • A local config.js based on config.example.js, with the required configuration details

Steps

  1. Clone the repository and change into its directory.

  2. Install dependencies with yarn install.

  3. Create config.js from config.example.js and provide your configuration details.

  4. Run yarn dev for a development build or yarn build for a production build; output is placed in /dist.

Expected outcome

A development or production extension build in the /dist directory.

Guide limitations

  • Configuration includes sensitive endpoints and API keys; the repository uses git-secret to encrypt them.
  • The guide describes building, not loading or verifying the extension in a browser.
