Practical overview

When it fits

Use Agentsys when coding work needs reusable components, explicit workflow stages and orchestration across supported developer tools. It is also relevant for teams considering an internal plugin repository, although the exact custom-repository setup is not documented here.

Who it is for

  • Developers building repeatable AI-assisted coding workflows.
  • Teams distributing reusable agents, plugins or skills across supported coding environments.
  • Organizations evaluating a plugin-oriented catalog for internal agent capabilities.

Documented uses

  • Install reusable AI-agent plugins, agents and skills.
  • Assemble phase-gated workflows for code review and other software-development tasks.
  • Coordinate specialized agents with defined responsibilities, inputs and outputs.
  • Persist workflow state across session boundaries.
  • Separate deterministic repository analysis from model-based planning, synthesis and review.
Before you choose

Requirements & limits

The repository is public on GitHub and distributed under the MIT license. The project is used through command-line-oriented developer tools.

  • It supports five named coding environments: Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex CLI, Cursor and Kiro.
  • Plugins are described as standalone repositories fetched through the Agentsys marketplace and installer.
  • Agents have defined responsibilities, model assignments and input/output boundaries.
  • Phase gates prevent documented pipeline stages from being skipped, while state persists across sessions.
  • The framework combines regex, AST and static analysis with LLM-based planning, synthesis and review.
