X402 Triton Gateway

X402 Triton Gateway is a TypeScript HTTP service that requires USDC micropayments for queries to historical Solana blocks and transactions served through Old Faithful. Its gateway enforces HTTP 402 payment requirements, while a facilitator validates and broadcasts signed payments on Solana; a Next.js dashboard provides wallet connection, query access and receipt history.

Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when prototyping or operating a usage-based payment layer for Old Faithful historical Solana queries, particularly transaction and block requests.

Who it is for

  • Developers building pay-per-query access to historical Solana data.
  • Data consumers who want to query archived Solana blocks or transactions through the included dashboard.

Documented uses

  • Gate historical Solana RPC queries behind HTTP 402 payment requirements.
  • Charge USDC per query or batch payment across a block range.
  • Retrieve Epoch 800 historical block and transaction data through Old Faithful.
  • Return transaction-signature receipts alongside query results.

Requirements & limits

The documented primary flow requires a connected Solana wallet and USDC for query payments. The repository is public and specifies an MIT license.

  • The documented archive is Epoch 800, with slots 345,600,000–345,855,967.
  • The README describes dynamic pricing by RPC method and range-based payment batching; local configuration examples show prices for transaction, block and signature queries.
  • Docker setup requires Docker Desktop and the Old Faithful CLI; local development requires Node.js 18+, pnpm and the CLI.
  • The documented settlement path uses Solana mainnet and Helius RPC configuration.

Source-based practical guide

Set up the Docker services locally

Start Old Faithful and bring up the gateway, facilitator and dashboard using the documented Docker setup.

Before you start

  • Docker Desktop
  • Old Faithful CLI binary at /tmp/faithful-cli
  • The old-faithful-epoch-800.yml archive configuration

Steps

  1. Start Old Faithful with /tmp/faithful-cli rpc --listen :8899 old-faithful-epoch-800.yml.

  2. From the project directory, run docker-compose up --build.

  3. Use the dashboard at http://localhost:3001; the README also lists the client demo at /client, gateway at port 4021 and facilitator at port 3000.

Expected outcome

The documented local services are brought up, with dashboard, client demo, gateway and facilitator addresses provided.

Guide limitations

  • The setup depends on the Old Faithful CLI and Epoch 800 configuration.
  • This recipe covers local setup; it does not establish that the services were executed or verified.
