Practical overview
When it fits
Use Auro when you want browser-based access to Mina account management, transfers or staking, or when you need the source repository to build the extension.
Who it is for
- Mina users who want a browser extension to manage MINA accounts and transactions.
- Users seeking wallet access to Mina staking and validator information.
- Developers who want to build or contribute to an open-source Mina wallet extension.
Documented uses
- Manage MINA accounts and review balances and transaction information.
- Send MINA transfers.
- Access staking features and view validator details.
- Build the extension from its public source repository.
Requirements & limits
The repository documents Chrome and Firefox support. The project is open source under Apache-2.0.
- Auro is specific to Mina and MINA asset workflows.
- Private keys are described as stored locally, while background components manage encrypted keys and account lists.
- Balance and transaction information, staking data and validator details are obtained through Mina GraphQL and indexer services.
- The documented interface languages are English and Chinese.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Prepare and build the extension
Set up the repository and create a development or production build.
Before you start
- Node.js v22.12.0
- npm 10.5.0
- Yarn 1.22.19
- React 17.x
- A local config.js based on config.example.js, with the required configuration details
Steps
Clone the repository and change into its directory.
Install dependencies with yarn install.
Create config.js from config.example.js and provide your configuration details.
Run yarn dev for a development build or yarn build for a production build; output is placed in /dist.
Expected outcome
A development or production extension build in the /dist directory.
Guide limitations
- Configuration includes sensitive endpoints and API keys; the repository uses git-secret to encrypt them.
- The guide describes building, not loading or verifying the extension in a browser.
