Practical overview
When it fits
Use Goar when a Go application needs programmatic access to Arweave wallet, transaction, data-upload or query functions rather than a general-purpose blockchain interface.
Who it is for
- Go developers integrating Arweave into applications or services.
- Teams building wallet, transaction or data-upload tooling for Arweave.
- Developers creating CLI, server, cloud or self-hosted integrations.
Documented uses
- Query Arweave transactions, blocks, balances and network data.
- Create wallets from keyfiles and sign Arweave transactions.
- Send AR, Winston or data transactions to Arweave.
- Upload larger data with chunking and resume an interrupted upload.
- Create and verify signatures, bundles and RSA threshold signatures.
Requirements & limits
The repository is public and identifies an Apache-2.0 license. The README provides Go installation and usage examples. It also states that maintenance has migrated to the PermaDAO goar repository.
- Go is required for the documented SDK and examples.
- A wallet keyfile is required for the wallet and transfer examples.
- The client and wallet are initialized against an Arweave node URL.
- The package documents chunked uploads for larger data and resumable transfers.
- The repository supports Arweave transaction format 2 for the documented chunk-transaction flow.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Set up a Go wallet for an Arweave transfer
Create a wallet from a keyfile and prepare a documented AR or Winston transfer.
Before you start
- Go project using the Goar package.
- An Arweave wallet keyfile.
- An Arweave node URL, such as https://arweave.net.
- A target Arweave address and transfer amount.
Steps
Install the package with the command below.
go get github.com/everFinance/goarCreate a wallet with
NewWalletFromPath, providing the keyfile path and Arweave node URL.Call
SendARwith an amount, target address and tags; the README also documentsSendWinstonfor Winston-denominated transfers.Read the returned transaction ID and error value.
Expected outcome
The documented example returns a transaction object and transaction ID after the wallet submission call.
Guide limitations
- The example does not establish that a transfer will succeed on a live network.
- Private-key handling, funding and transaction confirmation procedures are not covered in the supplied material.
- The repository README directs users to the maintained PermaDAO repository for the latest version.
