Practical overview
When it fits
Use Gotron SDK when a Go application or operational tool needs direct TRON blockchain interaction, gRPC connectivity, wallet features or command-line automation.
Who it is for
- Go developers building TRON applications
- Backend and infrastructure teams operating TRON services
- Teams creating wallets, exchanges, bots or staking tools
- Developers needing CLI scripting and automation for TRON
Documented uses
- Create, import and manage TRON accounts and keystores
- Build TRX, TRC10 and TRC20 transaction workflows
- Query blocks, transactions, accounts and network resources
- Interact with smart contracts and monitor contract events
- Support Ledger hardware wallets, multisignature operations and staking
Requirements & limits
The repository is publicly accessible and identifies an LGPL-3.0 license. Installation paths documented in the repository include a shell installer, Go, Homebrew and building from source.
- Go is the implementation language and the SDK documents a gRPC transport.
- The package includes both Go libraries and the tronctl CLI.
- Ledger support, HD wallet functionality, encrypted keystores and multisignature operations are documented.
- TRX, TRC10, TRC20 and smart-contract workflows are covered.
- The repository documents configuration for a custom node, TLS and a Trongrid API key.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Install the tronctl command-line tool
Set up the documented TRON CLI for account, balance and transaction commands.
Before you start
- A system with Go or Homebrew, or a shell that can run the documented installer.
- Access to the Gotron SDK repository or its published installation sources.
Steps
Install with the documented shell installer, Go command, Homebrew formula or source-build process.
Use tronctl keys add to create an account.
Use tronctl account balance to query an address.
Use tronctl account send --signer to prepare a TRX transfer command.
Expected outcome
The tronctl command is installed and the documented account, balance and transfer command patterns are available.
Guide limitations
- Signing and broadcasting require the relevant signer and network configuration.
