Practical overview
When it fits
Use Goyser when a Go application needs to consume Solana updates from a Yellowstone Geyser stream. The documented example requires a Geyser RPC address; Goyser supplies the client library, not the stream endpoint.
Who it is for
- Go developers building Solana monitoring or indexing services
- Teams consuming Yellowstone account, transaction or block events in Go applications
- Developers integrating Geyser transaction data with solana-go types
Documented uses
- Subscribe to updates for selected Solana accounts.
- Consume slot, transaction, transaction-status, block, block-metadata, entry or account-data-slice streams.
- Unsubscribe from account and other supported streams.
- Convert received transactions into solana-go types.
Requirements & limits
The public repository is licensed under Apache-2.0. The README requires Go 1.22.0 or higher.
- Yellowstone is the supported plugin path listed in the README; Jito support is marked TBD.
- The account example uses a Geyser RPC address supplied through the
GEYSER_RPCenvironment variable. - The documented installation command uses Go modules:
go get github.com/weeaa/goyser@latest.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

GEYSER_RPCenvironment variable and create a client withyellowstone_geyser.New.Add a stream client with a commitment level, then call
SubscribeAccountswith a filter name and the account address.Read updates from the stream channel and use the filter name to identify matching account updates.
Expected outcome

Guide limitations
- This guide covers the documented account-subscription example; it does not establish how to obtain or operate a Geyser RPC endpoint.
- The README describes Jito plugin support as TBD.
