URL Encoder & Decoder

Encode or decode a URL component and inspect query parameters, including repeated names.

Runs locally in your browser

Maximum 2 MiB per input. Selected Base64 and SHA-256 files are read as exact bytes. CSV: 20,000 data rows and 100 columns. Text comparisons preserve case, whitespace and Unicode spelling.

Component encoding uses percent escapes and %20 for spaces. Component decoding preserves literal + signs; query inspection treats + as a space. Query inspection accepts at most 20,000 parameters. Results preserve parameter order and repeated names. No URL is requested. Malformed percent escapes and invalid UTF-8 are rejected.

What this tool does

Component encoding uses percent escapes and %20 for spaces. Component decoding preserves literal + signs; query inspection treats + as a space. Query inspection accepts at most 20,000 parameters. Results preserve parameter order and repeated names. No URL is requested. Malformed percent escapes and invalid UTF-8 are rejected.

Use the example to understand the accepted input. Field names, when applicable, are literal. Inputs are not executed, and Sitemap Inspector never requests the listed URLs.

Worker processing stops after 20 seconds; results are limited to 5 MiB. Initial sitemap XML parsing runs locally before that worker timeout. Inputs and results are cleared when you reload the page. Nothing is executed from the supplied files.

A practical example

Encode one query-parameter value or inspect repeated parameters in a saved URL without requesting that URL.

Example input

Component: hello world+
Query: ?tag=rust&tag=python&q=a+b

What to expect

Component encoding yields hello%20world%2B. Query inspection preserves both tag entries and decodes q as a b.

These scripts group or compare saved URL paths; their contracts differ from component encoding.
