Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when an Ethereum application needs several read results together and you want to aggregate them through a single eth_call rather than make separate read calls.
Who it is for
Web3 developers building Ethereum applications that need to retrieve multiple read values together.
Documented uses
- Batch contract method reads, such as ERC-20 balanceOf calls for several addresses.
- Combine contract reads with ETH balance queries in one aggregation.
- Retrieve ETH balances and selected block metadata through helper functions.
Requirements & limits
- Integration requires a Web3 provider and either a chain ID or a deployed Multicall contract address.
- The README identifies a supported-networks document for checking network coverage.
- The repository states that the project is licensed under MIT.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Set up WEB3 Multicall in a Web3 project
Install the package and initialize the library with a provider and network configuration.
Before you start
- A project using Web3 and a Web3 provider.
- A chain ID or the address of a deployed Multicall contract.
Steps
Install @dopex-io/web3-multicall with npm or Yarn.
Import Multicall into the project.
Create a Multicall instance with the provider and either a chainId or multicallAddress; optionally set defaultBlock.
Expected outcome
A configured Multicall instance ready for the aggregation stage described in the README.
Guide limitations
- The setup instructions do not by themselves show an executed or verified integration.
- Check the repository’s supported-networks document when choosing a network.
