Vibe Coding Toolkit

Vibe Coding Toolkit is an open-source developer toolkit that collects Claude Code plugins, AI-agent workflow guidance, lint-based quality gates and reusable prompts. It includes guidance for coordinating parallel subagents, structuring agent work before code changes, and retaining project instructions. Its README presents Claude Code as the main environment and says many practices can also apply to Codex.

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when introducing structure around AI coding sessions, particularly when you need project instructions, subagent coordination or lint-based quality gates rather than relying on a single broad prompt.

Who it is for

  • Developers already using or evaluating Claude Code or Codex who want a more structured AI-assisted coding workflow.
  • Teams or individual developers seeking guidance on parallel subagent work and lint-based project rules.

Documented uses

  • Set up an initial Claude Code workflow with a plugin and project-instructions template.
  • Use a planning-oriented workflow to clarify intent before an agent writes code.
  • Coordinate parallel subagents and reduce file or commit conflicts through a documented protocol.
  • Apply lint quality gates, including a documented file-length ceiling, and identify files exceeding it.
  • Reuse prompts and project practices across AI-assisted coding sessions.

Requirements & limits

The repository is public and identifies its license as MIT.

  • Claude Code is the primary documented environment; the repository says many practices also apply to Codex, but does not demonstrate that every plugin or workflow is compatible.
  • The introductory setup is manual: its README says there is no installer that detects a project's stack and configures the toolkit automatically.
  • The README separates measuring files against the 350-line limit from refactoring them; the measurement prompt reports files over the ceiling without fixing them.
  • The workflow material is generalized from a private production project, whose source code is not included.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Set up the initial Claude Code workflow

Install Claude Code, add the official plugin marketplace, install Superpowers and place the project-instructions template in a project.

Before you start

  • Node.js package manager access for the listed npm installation command.
  • Claude Code and a project where the CLAUDE.md template can be copied.

Steps

  1. Install Claude Code with the documented npm command.

  2. Add the anthropics/claude-plugins-official marketplace in Claude Code.

  3. Install superpowers from that marketplace.

  4. Copy templates/CLAUDE.md.template to CLAUDE.md in the project.

Expected outcome

The documented initial setup has Claude Code installed, Superpowers activated and the project-instructions template copied into place.

Guide limitations

  • These are initial setup steps; the README directs users to the onboarding playbook for subagent orchestration, quality gates and memory between sessions.
  • The README says there is no automatic installer that detects a project stack and configures everything.
