Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when an Algorand dApp needs a reusable wallet integration layer with framework adapters and modular wallet packages.
Who it is for
- Developers building Algorand decentralized applications
- Teams using React, Vue, SolidJS, Svelte, or vanilla JavaScript and TypeScript
- Projects that need multiple wallet providers or reactive wallet state
Documented uses
- Add selectable wallet connections to an Algorand dApp
- Switch accounts, wallets, and networks reactively
- Sign and send Algorand transactions
- Support ARC-60 data signing
- Restore wallet sessions
Requirements & limits
- The core is framework-agnostic, while official adapters are listed for React, Vue, SolidJS, and Svelte.
- Wallet adapters are separate packages, allowing developers to install only the wallets they intend to support.
- The library supports Pera, Defly, Exodus, Kibisis, KMD, Lute, Mnemonic, W3 Wallet, WalletConnect, and Web3Auth through listed adapters.
- A custom provider is built into core for integrating another wallet, but implementation details vary by provider.
- The packages are ESM-only and tree-shakeable.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Configure React with selected Algorand wallets
Set up a React dApp with Pera and Defly wallet adapters and a testnet default network.
Before you start
- A React project
- npm
- The packages @txnlab/use-wallet-react, @txnlab/use-wallet-pera, @txnlab/use-wallet-defly, and algosdk
Steps
Install the React framework adapter, the Pera and Defly wallet adapter packages, and algosdk.
Import WalletManager, WalletProvider, and the useWallet hook from the React adapter.
Import the pera and defly adapter factories.
Create a WalletManager with pera() and defly() and set defaultNetwork to testnet.
Wrap the application in WalletProvider with the manager.
Expected outcome
The documented provider structure is configured for a React Algorand dApp with Pera and Defly available through the wallet manager.
Guide limitations
- The supplied implementation does not demonstrate a complete deployed application or the subsequent transaction flow.
Compare options for Wallet connections
These projects document a common task and share a project role. This is a source-based comparison, not an execution benchmark or a guarantee of interchangeability.
