Practical overview
When it fits
Use TorchBlocks when a PyTorch-based NLP project would benefit from task-specific tutorial scripts and a Python toolkit, and its work-in-progress status fits the development plan.
Who it is for
- Python developers building or training NLP task models with PyTorch.
- Practitioners exploring classification, similarity or sequence-labeling workflows through example scripts.
Documented uses
- Develop text-classification workflows.
- Explore siamese, sentence and triple-similarity tasks.
- Build sequence-labeling workflows, including named-entity recognition examples.
- Experiment with relation-classification tasks.
Requirements & limits
The project is published as an open-source repository under the MIT license.
- Requires Python 3.7 or later and the listed PyTorch, tokenizers, Transformers and torchmetrics dependencies.
- Linux or macOS is recommended.
- The project is marked work in progress, and interfaces may change.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
