Synalinks Skills

Synalinks Skills is a public repository of reusable `SKILL.md` instructions that teach compatible coding agents how to work with the Synalinks Python framework. It contains one `synalinks` skill, supporting scripts, captured run logs and reference documents covering the framework’s core APIs, programs, modules, agents, knowledge features, training, evaluation and provider integrations.

Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when a coding agent is working in a project that uses the Synalinks Python library and needs guidance on idiomatic framework APIs rather than mixed conventions from other AI or programming frameworks.

Who it is for

  • Developers writing Synalinks Python code with a compatible coding agent
  • Teams sharing consistent Synalinks development guidance across projects
  • Users of Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, OpenCode, pi and other Agent Skills-compatible agents

Documented uses

  • Give a coding agent framework-specific instructions while it generates or changes Synalinks code
  • Provide reusable guidance for recurring Synalinks development tasks
  • Share one instruction format across multiple supported coding agents
  • Consult examples and reference material covering different parts of the Synalinks framework
Before you choose

Requirements & limits

The repository is public and identified as Apache-2.0 licensed. The documented installation uses the `skills` CLI through `npx`, which requires Node.js. Project and global installation scopes are described.

  • The repository provides a single framework-wide synalinks skill rather than separate skills for each framework area.
  • Its coverage includes core APIs, program construction, control flow, agents, knowledge workflows, training, rewards, optimizers, providers and datasets.
  • The same skill content is intended for multiple Agent Skills-compatible coding agents, without per-agent variants.
  • Supporting scripts include usage notes, run logs and deeper reference documents that the agent can use as development guidance.
  • The project can be installed locally or globally, and the documented CLI supports named-agent targeting and skill listing.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Install the Synalinks skill in a project

Add the repository’s `synalinks` Agent Skill to the current project for use by a compatible coding agent.

Before you start

  • Node.js with the npx command
  • A project where the Synalinks Python library is used
  • A coding agent that supports the Agent Skills format

Steps

  1. Open a terminal at the project root.

  2. Run the command below.

    Documented command
npx skills add SynaLinks/synalinks-skills --skill synalinks
  3. Commit the generated skills-lock.json so teammates and CI resolve the same skill content.

  4. Use the compatible coding agent in that project to access the installed skill.

Expected outcome

The project receives the Synalinks `SKILL.md` guidance in the agent’s project-level skills directory.

Guide limitations

  • The repository provides instructions and examples; this installation does not itself install the Synalinks Python library.
  • The skill content is available to agents that support the Agent Skills format.
Source-based practical guide

Install the skill for a specific agent or globally

Choose an agent target or user-level scope when adding the Synalinks skill.

Before you start

  • Node.js with the npx command
  • The relevant supported coding agent installed

Steps

  1. For a specific agent, run the command below, replacing the agent slug as needed.

    Documented command
npx skills add SynaLinks/synalinks-skills --skill synalinks -a claude-code
  2. For user-level availability, add --global to the installation command.

  3. Use the command below to list installed skills.

    Documented command
    npx skills list

Expected outcome

The skill is targeted to the selected agent or installed in the agent’s user-level skills directory, depending on the command used.

Guide limitations

  • The documented examples cover agent targeting and scope selection; they do not establish that every listed agent has identical directory behavior.
  • Global installation affects availability across projects but does not replace the underlying Synalinks library.
