Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when you want to configure and run a self-managed Solana trading bot rather than use a documented hosted trading interface.
Who it is for
- Developers running server or command-line software.
- Solana traders seeking configurable token-buying and selling automation.
- Users evaluating filters, snipe lists and strategy parameters for Raydium-oriented workflows.
Documented uses
- Automate token purchases when configured market conditions are fulfilled.
- Set rules for automatic selling, take profit, stop loss, retries and slippage.
- Filter potential purchases by pool, token and liquidity conditions.
- Run and adjust a self-managed Solana trading workflow.
Requirements & limits
The repository is public, open source and licensed under MS-PL. The documented setup requires Node.js, a configured wallet and RPC endpoints; no pricing or hosted-account requirement is documented.
- It requires a Node.js environment and terminal-based setup.
- A wallet private key and Solana RPC endpoints must be configured.
- Trading behavior depends on detailed parameters for buying, selling, filters, retries, slippage and fees.
- The snipe-list mode has specific timing behavior: the pool must not exist before the bot starts.
- Some market-loading and caching settings are documented as unsuitable for public RPC.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Set up Solana Trading Bot V3 for local execution
Prepare the documented environment and launch the bot from a terminal.
Before you start
- SOL converted to USDC or WSOL, depending on configuration.
- A Node.js environment.
- A configured .env file containing wallet, RPC and trading settings.
Steps
Convert some SOL to USDC or WSOL; the documentation recommends WSOL and describes using Jupiter's Manage flow to wrap SOL.
Rename .env.example to .env and update the configuration, including the wallet private key, RPC endpoints and trading parameters.
Install project dependencies with npm install.
Start the program with npm run start in a terminal.
Expected outcome
The bot starts and displays output reflecting the configurations completed in the .env file.
Guide limitations
- The documentation warns that PRE_LOAD_EXISTING_MARKETS and CACHE_NEW_MARKETS should not be used with public RPC.
- This procedure documents setup and launch, not a verified trading result.
