Practical overview

When it fits

Use Pixel2Motion when a logo begins as a PNG, JPG, WebP, or screenshot and the desired workflow includes both vector fitting and animated previews, with files for reviewing the fitting and motion.

Who it is for

  • Designers and developers creating animated brand marks from raster logo files.
  • Teams that want to review vector fitting before adding logo motion.
  • Codex or Claude users working on SVG logo reveals and HTML motion previews.

Documented uses

  • Reconstruct a raster logo as a clean SVG structured for animation.
  • Create logo animation and an interactive HTML showcase.
  • Export GIF or video previews for reviewing or sharing a motion draft.
  • Keep fitting overlays, rendered frames, and motion notes alongside the deliverables.

Requirements & limits

The skill is presented as open source under the MIT license. The repository documents local CLI-oriented tooling and browser-rendering prerequisites.

  • The documented workflow uses Python 3.10+, Pillow, and NumPy for image-analysis helpers.
  • Geometry and HTML rendering call for Chrome or Chromium; deterministic frame capture and motion continuity QA call for Playwright.
  • The repository describes the skill for Codex and Claude and does not establish an API.
  • The static vector is fitted and reviewed before motion is authored, so vector quality is part of the workflow rather than a step to skip.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Set up Pixel2Motion's local rendering tools

Prepare the documented Python and browser dependencies for local geometry rendering and HTML or motion checks.

Before you start

  • Python 3.10 or later
  • A virtual environment
  • Pillow and NumPy
  • Chrome or Chromium
  • Playwright

Steps

  1. Create a Python virtual environment.

  2. Install Pillow, NumPy, and Playwright in that environment.

  3. Use Playwright to install Chromium.

  4. If Chrome is not on the default path, set CHROME_BIN to its executable path before running render checks.

Expected outcome

A local environment with the dependencies listed for rendering and deterministic frame-capture checks.

Guide limitations

  • This documents dependency setup only; it does not verify a successful installation or animation run.
  • The supplied setup instructions do not document a specific operating-system matrix.
