Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when setting up a Windows mining rig and you need pool profitability monitoring alongside control of command-line miners.
Who it is for
- Windows users configuring CPU or GPU cryptocurrency mining.
- Mining-rig operators who want to compare pool profitability and manage command-line miners.
Documented uses
- Compare mining-pool options using profitability estimates for a machine.
- Benchmark mining options and control command-line miner software.
- Monitor a rig through a dashboard and identify miner failures.
Requirements & limits
The project is open source under the GPL-3.0 license. The README documents Windows prerequisites, including PowerShell 6.2 and .NET Framework 4.5.1 or later.
- Pool, algorithm and miner support depends on the available miner binaries.
- Power-use-aware profitability calculations require HWiNFO64 to be installed and configured separately.
- MiningPoolHub balance collection requires an API key.
- The README says full support covers up to six GPUs; adding support beyond that may require advanced miner-file changes.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Set up MultiPoolMiner from a release ZIP
Prepare the documented Windows configuration and launch MultiPoolMiner for its benchmarking stage.
Before you start
- Windows
- PowerShell 6.2
- .NET Framework 4.5.1 or later
- A MultiPoolMiner release ZIP
- Wallet address and configuration details such as region, worker name and device type
Steps
Download a release ZIP and extract it somewhere other than a folder such as C:\Program Files.
Open the required Start.bat file in a text editor and enter your configuration details.
Save the file and launch that Start.bat.
Allow benchmarking to finish.
Expected outcome
The configured application launches and completes its benchmarking stage.
Guide limitations
- The README says not to edit other settings for basic use.
- HWiNFO64 must be separately installed and configured to include power use in profitability calculations.
- The README documents full support for up to six GPUs; additional GPUs may require advanced changes to miner files.
