MuAPI ComfyUI Nodes

MuAPI ComfyUI Nodes is a Python pack of custom nodes that connects ComfyUI workflows to MuAPI-hosted models for image, video, audio and enhancement tasks. Its nodes cover generation and editing operations, and a generic node can send raw JSON to a MuAPI endpoint.

Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when building or extending ComfyUI workflows that call MuAPI models, especially when the workflow combines different media-generation or editing tasks.

Who it is for

  • ComfyUI users who want to add MuAPI-backed media generation or editing to node-based workflows.
  • Workflow builders combining image, video, audio or enhancement steps with a single MuAPI API key.

Documented uses

  • Generate images from text or transform an existing image.
  • Create video from text or images, extend generated video, and apply video edits such as upscaling or lip-sync.
  • Generate or remix audio through supported MuAPI endpoints.
  • Upscale, remove backgrounds from, colorize or otherwise enhance images.

Requirements & limits

A MuAPI API key is required for model requests. The repository is MIT-licensed.

  • It is a ComfyUI integration; model requests are made through MuAPI rather than locally hosted model nodes.
  • The repository lists 12 nodes spanning image, video, audio and enhancement tasks.
  • The generic node accepts raw JSON; image placeholders are documented for automatic upload.
  • The save-video node restricts downloads to HTTPS URLs on cdn.muapi.ai, rejects redirects and confines subfolder paths to ComfyUI’s configured output directory.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Install the nodes and connect a MuAPI key

Set up the custom nodes in ComfyUI and connect a key to a generation node.

Before you start

  • ComfyUI
  • A MuAPI API key

Steps

  1. Install the repository through ComfyUI Manager using its Git URL, then restart ComfyUI; alternatively, clone it into ComfyUI/custom_nodes and install its requirements.

  2. In ComfyUI, add the MuAPI API Key node and paste in the key.

  3. Connect the node’s api_key output to a generation node and queue a prompt.

Expected outcome

The workflow is configured to send a generation request through a MuAPI node.

Guide limitations

  • Model requests use MuAPI and require an API key.
  • The guide documents setup and request submission, not a verified execution result.
