Practical overview
When it fits
Use Lotusx when building a Rust application that needs shared connector structure for exchange APIs, rather than a ready-made trading interface.
Who it is for
- Rust developers building software that needs cryptocurrency exchange connectivity.
- Teams creating market-data collectors, trading applications or account-monitoring tools.
Documented uses
- Fetch market data through exchange connectors.
- Represent and route typed order requests to supported exchanges.
- Access account operations across supported connector modules.
- Collect funding rates from the modules that document this support.
Requirements & limits
The repository is public and specifies an MIT license. The public Binance perpetual market-data demo requires network access. Authenticated operations use exchange-specific API credentials; optional testnet settings are documented.
- The repository lists eight modules: Binance, Binance Perpetual, Bybit, Bybit Perpetual, Backpack, Hyperliquid, OKX and Paradex.
- All listed modules document market data, trading and account operations; only Binance Perpetual, Bybit Perpetual and Paradex list funding-rate support.
- The project is a Rust library, so developers integrate it into their own software rather than use it as a standalone app.
- The README documents REST/WebSocket transport, signing, typed financial data and a read-only Binance market-data example.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Fetch Binance market listings with a read-only connector
Configure the documented Binance connector in read-only testnet mode and request market listings.
Before you start
- A Rust project with Lotusx and Tokio dependencies.
- Rust async runtime support.
- Network access.
Steps
Add Lotusx and Tokio dependencies as shown in the README.
Create an ExchangeConfig with ExchangeConfig::read_only().testnet(true).
Build a Binance connector with build_connector(config).
Call get_markets().await and handle or print the returned market list.
Expected outcome
The example requests Binance market listings through the read-only testnet-configured connector.
Guide limitations
- Network access is required.
- The guide covers market data only; it does not place orders.
