Requirements & limits
The app is described as free and open source under Apache-2.0, with no IncarnaMind account needed. Releases are listed for macOS on Apple silicon (M1 or later), Windows and Linux. Test builds are unsigned; Linux AppImage users may need additional setup.
- The checking feature compares writing with the user's files; errors already present in those files can pass through.
- The project says Ollama use works fully offline, while ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini are also supported model options.
- The listed macOS build supports Apple silicon M1 or later; Intel Macs are not supported.
- Linux packages include .deb for Ubuntu and Debian or AppImage, with documented FUSE prerequisites for some Ubuntu versions.
- Word export can preserve untouched document sections and add edits as tracked changes; notes can also be exported with footnotes in eight citation styles.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
