Practical overview
When it fits
Use Enkrypt when browser-based access to several blockchain ecosystems, asset management and dapp interaction are needed in one wallet interface.
Who it is for
- Multi-chain crypto users managing assets across several supported networks
- NFT holders who want browser-based token and NFT management
- Dapp users who need a browser wallet connection
- Developers examining or building the MIT-licensed wallet codebase
Documented uses
- Manage accounts from one seed phrase
- Send and receive supported blockchain assets
- Manage tokens and NFTs
- Swap tokens
- Connect to and interact with decentralized applications
Requirements & limits
The repository provides a Chrome/Brave download link and documents installation paths for Chromium-based browsers and Firefox. It is publicly available under the MIT License.
- Review the published supported-chain list before using a particular network.
- Choose the browser build path relevant to Chrome-based browsers or Firefox.
- Consider Ledger or Trezor support when hardware-wallet use is part of the workflow.
- The repository identifies TypeScript and Vue.js as the main development technologies.
- The codebase is public and MIT licensed.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Build Enkrypt for a development browser extension
Set up the repository and build a development extension for Chromium-based browsers or Firefox.
Before you start
- Node.js and nvm
- npm and Yarn
- A clone of the public Enkrypt repository
Steps
Clone the enKrypt repository.
Install the project packages with Yarn.
Use the documented Chromium or Firefox watch command to build while developing.
Alternatively, run the documented all-build command, enter the extension package, and start its watcher.
Add the resulting extension to Chrome, Brave, Opera or Firefox using the browser’s extension-installation process.
Expected outcome
A development build of the Enkrypt browser extension prepared for local browser installation.
Guide limitations
- The instructions describe development builds and browser installation workflows; they do not establish transaction execution or network compatibility.
- The repository separately documents Docker-based Firefox release builds.
Compare options for Wallet connections
These projects document a common task and share a project role. This is a source-based comparison, not an execution benchmark or a guarantee of interchangeability.
| Project | Documented purpose | Platform | Access and requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enkrypt | Manage accounts from one seed phrase | Browser Extension, Web | The repository provides a Chrome/Brave download link and documents installation paths for Chromium-based browsers and Firefox. It is publicly available under the MIT License. |
| Shango | Connect a mobile wallet to a personal LND node. | Android, iOS, Mobile | The README lists iOS TestFlight and Google Play beta installation routes and describes the app as a public beta. Its cloud-node instructions are for testnet. |
