Requirements & limits

Available as desktop builds for Windows, macOS and Linux, and as an npm-based self-hosted web console. The npm installation requires Node.js 23 or newer.

  • Select desktop or self-hosted web deployment according to how you want to run the workspace.
  • Coding-agent CLIs run on the machine hosting the Studio backend and must be installed there.
  • Scoped configuration can use a selected Studio provider and model for supported runtimes; global mode uses the CLI’s existing configuration and sign-in.
  • Models, tools and context controls depend on the selected runtime.
  • Studio session storage and Hermes Agent state are separate.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
