Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when you want a code-based example of Dai-oriented yield farming or a documented starting point for learning and adapting an Ethereum dApp.
Who it is for
- Developers studying Ethereum smart-contract and browser-client architecture.
- Readers exploring a Dai-based yield-farming and liquidity-mining application.
Documented uses
- Study how a browser client can interact directly with Ethereum smart contracts.
- Set up the documented development environment and deploy the contracts and front end.
- Review contract tests and the project’s Dai-based staking and farming example.
Requirements & limits
The repository is public and licensed under MIT.
- The browser website talks directly to the blockchain rather than to a conventional back-end server.
- Reward withdrawal is manual in the current version; automation is listed as planned.
- The implementation is Dai-based. Adapting it to another ERC-20 token is not demonstrated.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Set up the project and deploy its contracts and client
Prepare the documented development tools, install project packages, deploy the contracts and start the front end.
Before you start
- Node.js, with the README specifying version 12.18.3
- Truffle 5.1.39
- Ganache
- MetaMask
Steps
Install the documented Node.js version, Truffle, Ganache and MetaMask.
From the project directory, install the Node.js packages with the command below.
npm installDeploy the contracts with
truffle migrate --reset.Start the front end with the README command the command below.
npm start run
Expected outcome
The documented setup and deployment sequence for the contracts and browser client.
Guide limitations
- The guide describes repository instructions; it is not a verification that the commands run successfully in a particular environment.
