Practical overview
When it fits
Use Countbot when you want to assemble and operate an agent runtime in a local or self-hosted environment, with control over model, channel, workflow and tool connections.
Who it is for
- People building self-hosted AI assistants that receive tasks through messaging channels.
- Teams organizing multi-agent work through roles and pipeline, graph or council workflows.
- Developers connecting language models to tools, local workspaces and external coding assistants.
Documented uses
- Route requests from supported messaging channels to an agent runtime.
- Divide tasks among agent roles and coordinate their work through workflows.
- Connect agents to file, Shell, web, screen and file-transfer tools.
- Keep agents running for scheduled tasks, reminders and longer workflows.
Requirements & limits
The project is open source under the MIT license. The README lists source installation and desktop releases for Windows, macOS and Linux.
- The project identifies Python 3.8 or later as its runtime prerequisite.
- The README lists more than 100 LLM providers and channels including Web, WeChat, Feishu, DingTalk, Telegram, WeCom, QQ and Weibo.
- Pipeline, graph and council are the named agent-team coordination modes.
- MCP client and Wiki knowledge-base modules are described in the v0.9.0 notes; MCP is off by default.
- The documented source setup launches the application but does not itself configure a model or channel.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Compare options for Agent orchestration
These projects document a common task and share a project role. This is a source-based comparison, not an execution benchmark or a guarantee of interchangeability.
| Project | Documented purpose | Platform | Access and requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
