Practical overview
When it fits
Use Clawless when an agent workflow needs browser-contained Node.js execution and policy controls or audit records. Developers can also use its SDK and templates to bootstrap an agent configuration.
Who it is for
- Developers who want to run Claw agents in a browser-based environment.
- Teams building agent workflows that need configurable file, process or network policies and activity records.
Documented uses
- Run a Claw agent without provisioning a separate backend server.
- Let an agent read, write and execute files in an isolated browser runtime.
- Set policy rules and runtime limits for agent activity.
- Inspect and filter audit events such as file operations, process activity and network requests.
Requirements & limits
The project is open source under the MIT license. Its README documents local setup and an SDK package installation; it does not establish service pricing or account requirements.
- The runtime uses WebContainers and WASM, with Node.js execution inside the browser.
- Policy configuration covers file access, allowed processes, port bindings and runtime limits.
- Audit logging includes process, file, network and Git events; sensitive headers such as API keys are described as masked.
- The SDK accepts provider keys for Anthropic, OpenAI or Google through environment configuration.
- The repository documents TypeScript, Vite and the WebContainer API among its technical stack.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
