Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when you need to organize multiple wallet accounts across supported networks or carry out documented wallet tasks such as payment requests and transaction signing.
Who it is for
- People managing accounts on more than one supported blockchain or network.
- Wallet users who need identity management, payment requests or transaction signing.
- Users interested in a wallet experience that includes Nostr support.
Documented uses
- Keep multiple wallets and their accounts in one application.
- Manage accounts associated with different blockchains and networks.
- Create or handle payment requests and sign transactions.
- Choose whether account balance and transaction data are retrieved through local history or indexer APIs.
Requirements & limits
The repository documents browser-extension, Progressive Web App, native mobile and desktop formats. It specifies Chromium-based browser support and says Firefox is not supported.
- Normal mode retrieves transaction history and calculates balances locally; Quick mode retrieves balance information from indexer APIs and queries those APIs for transaction inputs when sending.
- The repository identifies the software as experimental and says users hold their own keys; it warns that a lost secret recovery phrase cannot be restored by the project.
- The repository specifies an MIT license and TypeScript as its primary language.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
