Binance To Google Sheets

Binance To Google Sheets is a JavaScript Google Sheets add-on that retrieves data from Binance’s API through a BINANCE() spreadsheet formula. It supports public market data, including prices, historical OHLCV and 24-hour statistics, as well as private account assets and order information when given a Binance API key. The repository is public and identifies GPL-3.0 as its license.

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when Binance API data needs to be worked with in Google Sheets, particularly for spreadsheet reports or dashboards. Public market-data calls need no Binance API key; private account and order calls do.

Who it is for

  • Spreadsheet users assembling Binance market-data reports or dashboards.
  • Binance account holders who want account assets or order records in a spreadsheet and can provide a read-only API key.
  • Developers who want to apply the Apps Script project to a spreadsheet using clasp.

Documented uses

  • Import current prices, historical OHLCV or 24-hour statistics into spreadsheet cells.
  • Retrieve account assets and current, completed or historical order data using private API access.
  • Build spreadsheet-based financial-data reports and dashboards from Binance data.

Requirements & limits

The documented setup uses a Google Spreadsheet and requires authorizing the add-on through Google’s permission dialog. Public Binance endpoints do not require a Binance API key; private endpoints require one, and the README says read-only permissions are sufficient.

  • The BINANCE() formula retrieves both public market data and private account or order data, but only the latter requires a Binance API key.
  • The project recommends a read-only key and says write or trading permissions are unnecessary for its features.
  • The README warns that requests come from Google servers and that a proxy may be needed where Binance blocks requests from restricted regions.
  • The README documents an all-in-one copy-and-paste setup as well as a developer workflow using Node.js, clasp and make.
  • The repository identifies JavaScript as its primary language and GPL-3.0 as its license.

Source-based practical guide

Set up the add-on in a Google Spreadsheet

Add and authorize the project’s all-in-one Apps Script code in a spreadsheet.

Before you start

  • A Google Spreadsheet.
  • The BINANCE.gs and appsscript.json files linked from the project README.

Steps

  1. In spreadsheet settings, set Calculation > Recalculation to “On change and every minute,” then save.

  2. Open Tools > Script editor, clear Code.gs and save the project.

  3. Enable “Show appsscript.json manifest file in editor”; paste the downloaded BINANCE.gs contents into Code.gs and the manifest contents into appsscript.json, then save.

  4. Reload the spreadsheet, use the Binance menu’s “Authorize add-on!” item, complete Google’s permission dialog, then repeat the authorization-menu step.

Expected outcome

The README’s setup sequence adds and authorizes the add-on in the spreadsheet; BINANCE() is the documented formula for requesting Binance data.

Guide limitations

  • The setup instructions do not establish that requests will succeed in every environment.
  • Requests from Google servers may need a proxy where Binance restrictions apply.
