Practical overview
When it fits
Consider the protocol when the task involves NFT-collateralized borrowing, liquidity provision, or developer work with BendDAO's lending contracts and market configurations.
Who it is for
- Depositors seeking to supply liquidity to a BendDAO market.
- NFT holders seeking overcollateralized borrowing against NFTs.
- Developers integrating lending contracts or examining NFT-backed lending market configurations.
Documented uses
- Supply liquidity as a depositor.
- Borrow against NFTs using overcollateralization.
- Import BendDAO contract interfaces and artifacts into a development project.
- Configure or extend a market using the repository's market configuration patterns.
Requirements & limits
- The repository uses Hardhat and documents Docker Compose as a prerequisite before testing or deployment tasks.
- Contract interfaces and ABI/bytecode artifacts are available through the @benddao/bend-protocol package.
- Market configuration is organized per market, with separate configuration files and deployment tasks.
- The README points developers to documentation for interfaces, integration guides, audits and current deployed-contract addresses.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Set up the repository for Hardhat tasks
Prepare the documented Docker-based environment before running repository tests or deployment tasks.
Before you start
- Docker and Docker Compose
- A .env file with a mnemonic and an Alchemy or Infura provider key
- An Etherscan key is optional for contract verification
Steps
Install Docker and Docker Compose.
Create the .env file and provide the required mnemonic and provider key; add an Etherscan key if needed for verification.
Run docker-compose up to start contracts-env.
Connect with docker-compose exec contracts-env bash and install dependencies using yarn install.
Expected outcome
The contracts environment is prepared for subsequent repository tasks; this setup guide does not run a test or deployment.
Guide limitations
- The README requires this container setup before test or deploy actions.
- Provider credentials and a mnemonic must be supplied in the environment file.
