Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when developing an embedded C client for the repository's AWS IoT Core workflow or when you need its modular platform and component structure. Treat direct blockchain integration and on-chain submission as future extension work rather than available functionality in the current repository.

Who it is for

  • Embedded C developers building connected-device clients
  • Teams integrating device data with AWS IoT Core
  • Developers porting IoT software across Linux, Android or supported embedded targets

Documented uses

  • Build an embedded C99 client that registers with AWS IoT Core and publishes signed device business data as IoT Shadow updates.
  • Use the SDK's modular cloud, MQTT, TLS, crypto, storage and queue components in a connected-device application.
  • Adapt the platform interfaces for network, storage, security, system and device functions to support another POSIX-like target.

Requirements & limits

The public repository is licensed under Apache-2.0.

  • The implemented cloud integration is AWS IoT Core; additional providers and direct blockchain-facing capabilities are planned extensions.
  • The Linux x86_64 quick start requires CMake 3.16+ and GCC 9+ or Clang 10+.
  • Android builds use the NDK CMake toolchain; the documented defaults are arm64-v8a and Android API level 23.
  • SIMCom A7606E-H cross-compilation requires an OpenWrt toolchain, target sysroot and vendor libraries.
  • The MQTT component borrows connection-configuration buffers, so callers must observe its buffer-lifetime requirements.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Build and run the documented Linux test workflow

Configure and build the SDK for Linux x86_64, then invoke its documented test suite.

Before you start

  • CMake 3.16 or later
  • A C99 compiler: GCC 9+ or Clang 10+
  • Git access to clone the repository and its submodules

Steps

  1. Clone the repository with submodules using the command below.

    Documented command
    git clone --recurse-submodules https://github.com/antgroup/AntChainTrustSDK.git
  2. Change to the repository directory.

  3. Run ./build.sh linux_x86 --clean-build --test.

Expected outcome

The documented workflow generates configuration, configures and builds under `build/`, then runs tests labeled `actrust`.

Guide limitations

  • This guide follows the repository's documented build-and-test procedure; it does not establish that the workflow was executed independently.
  • The optional formatting tools listed in the README are needed only to run tools/format.sh.

Configure an Android NDK build

Set up the documented Android target build using the SDK's NDK CMake toolchain.

Before you start

  • Android NDK
  • Set ANDROID_NDK_HOME to the NDK path

Steps

  1. Export ANDROID_NDK_HOME=/path/to/android-ndk, substituting the path to the installed NDK.

  2. Run ./build.sh android --clean-build.

Expected outcome

The build uses the Android NDK CMake toolchain and Android platform adapter.

Guide limitations

  • The documented defaults are arm64-v8a and Android API level 23; other values require setting ANDROID_ABI or ANDROID_PLATFORM.
  • This recipe covers the documented build invocation, not application deployment or runtime behavior.
