Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when examining or adapting a small Angular and Truffle example for Ethereum contract development, particularly if you want to follow the README's local Ganache setup.
Who it is for
- Developers exploring an Angular-based Ethereum contract application.
- Learners who want to inspect a starter workflow covering contract compilation, deployment, and a basic coin transaction.
Documented uses
- Start an Angular project structured to work with Truffle smart contracts.
- Compile and migrate contracts to a connected Ethereum network.
- Study a demo that creates a coin with an initial supply and sends an amount to a wallet address.
Requirements & limits
- The documented local workflow uses Ganache CLI and an Ethereum client configured for Localhost 8545.
- The README describes an Angular 4 app generated with Angular CLI 1.0.0, which is relevant when assessing the project's age and toolchain fit.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Set up and serve the local Angular-Truffle demo
Install the starter, prepare a local blockchain connection, compile and migrate its contracts, and serve the Angular app.
Before you start
- Node.js/npm environment
- Angular CLI (ng)
- Truffle CLI
- Ganache CLI for a local blockchain RPC server
- An Ethereum client connected to Localhost 8545; the README suggests MetaMask
Steps
Clone the repository and enter its directory, then run npm install.
Install Angular CLI and, if using a local chain, Ganache CLI; start ganache-cli in a separate terminal.
Connect the Ethereum client to Localhost 8545.
Run truffle compile and truffle migrate.
Run ng serve and open http://localhost:4200/.
Expected outcome
The Angular app is served locally after the contracts are compiled and migrated to the connected network.
Guide limitations
- The README warns that the Ethereum client must use the Localhost 8545 network for the documented local setup.
- The guide reflects the repository's README and does not establish that the commands work with current tool versions.
