ADAMANT Forging Pool

ADAMANT Forging Pool is a JavaScript application for operating an ADAMANT delegate forging pool. It calculates rewards for delegate voters, schedules ADM payouts with retry handling, stores block, voter and transaction history in MongoDB, serves a public voter dashboard, and sends operator notifications.

Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when an ADAMANT delegate needs self-hosted software to manage voter reward calculations, recurring ADM payouts and public pool reporting with MongoDB-backed history.

Who it is for

  • ADAMANT delegates operating a forging pool
  • Operators distributing scheduled rewards to delegate voters
  • Teams needing a public reward and transaction dashboard
  • Operators integrating pool health information with external monitoring

Documented uses

  • Calculate rewards for delegate voters
  • Schedule and retry ADM payouts
  • Store block, voter and transaction history
  • Publish pool status, voter rewards and transactions
  • Notify operators about important pool events

Requirements & limits

The repository is public, active and licensed under GPL-3.0. Running the application requires the listed Node.js, npm, MongoDB and ADAMANT delegate prerequisites.

  • It requires Node.js 22.13.0 or newer, npm 10 or newer and MongoDB 6 or newer.
  • Payout operation requires an ADAMANT delegate account with enough ADM for fees.
  • The dashboard and API remain available while an encrypted-passphrase pool is locked, but payouts and ADM notifications are paused.
  • The application supports node failover through adamant-api.
  • Migration helpers cover older v2 pool data and LowDB-to-MongoDB data migration.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Set up an ADAMANT forging pool

Install and configure the pool so it can run with an ADAMANT delegate account, MongoDB and a built dashboard.

Before you start

  • Node.js 22.13.0 or newer
  • npm 10 or newer
  • MongoDB 6 or newer
  • An ADAMANT delegate account with enough ADM for payout fees
  • ADAMANT node URLs and a MongoDB connection URI

Steps

  1. Clone the repository and run the command below to install the root, server, web and migration-script dependencies.

    Documented command
    npm run install:all
  2. Run the command below to build the dashboard.

    Documented command
    npm run build:web
  3. Copy config.default.jsonc to config.jsonc and set the delegate passPhrase, node_ADM, MongoDB URI and database name, plus payout parameters such as reward_percentage, minpayout and payoutperiod.

  4. Start the pool with the command below, or use the documented PM2 command for a production process manager.

    Documented command
    npm start

Expected outcome

A configured pool process with a built dashboard, blockchain node settings, MongoDB storage and payout parameters.

Guide limitations

  • The setup requires a delegate account and ADM for payout fees.
  • Configuration files may contain credentials and notification tokens and should remain local.
  • The documented setup does not establish that a payout has completed successfully.
Source-based practical guide

Use an encrypted operator passphrase

Configure the pool to keep the delegate passphrase encrypted in the configuration and control payout availability through the operator CLI.

Before you start

  • A configured pool repository
  • An operator password
  • A local config.jsonc file

Steps

  1. Run the command below, enter the passphrase and operator password, and place the resulting encrypted value in config.jsonc as passPhrase.

    Documented command
    npm run adm-pool encrypt
  2. Start the pool. With an encrypted passphrase, it boots locked and pauses payouts and ADM notifications.

  3. For a terminal launch, enter the operator password when prompted; under PM2 or systemd, run the command below from another shell.

    Documented command
    npm run adm-pool unlock
  4. Use the command below to clear the decrypted passphrase from the running process memory, or the command below to view its state.

    Documented command
    npm run adm-pool lock
    Documented command
    npm run adm-pool status

Expected outcome

The pool can run with an operator-encrypted passphrase and an explicit locked or unlocked payout state.

Guide limitations

  • A locked pool continues synchronization, dashboard and public API access but defers payouts and pauses ADM notifications.
  • The CLI communicates with the running pool through a local Unix socket.
  • The documented workflow does not provide a recovery procedure for a lost operator password.
