Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use Dex V4 when developing or integrating an on-chain orderbook market for SPL-token trading on Solana, rather than looking for a consumer-facing exchange interface.

Who it is for

  • Teams building a decentralized exchange interface for SPL-token markets.
  • Solana application developers integrating SPL-token trading through the JavaScript/WASM bindings.
  • Developers working with the orderbook’s associated cranking runtime.

Documented uses

  • Build an exchange interface around an on-chain SPL-token orderbook.
  • Integrate the program’s trading functionality into a Solana application.
  • Work with the associated cranking runtime.
  • Prepare devnet test-token funding using the documented market and faucet addresses.
Before you choose

Requirements & limits

The repository is public and contains the on-chain program code. The supplied documentation identifies no license.

  • The repository divides functionality among the on-chain program, JavaScript/WASM bindings, and cranking runtime.
  • Detailed program API documentation is available through cargo doc in the program directory.
  • The README documents devnet market and faucet addresses, but its faucet instructions do not describe a complete trade or deployment workflow.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Prepare SPL-token test funds on devnet

Use the README’s faucet instructions to request test tokens for its listed base or quote mint.

Before you start

  • A wallet address to receive tokens.
  • Test USDC Mint added to the wallet.
  • Access to SPL Token UI and the listed base or quote faucet address.

Steps

  1. Open SPL Token UI and select devnet.

  2. In the Airdrop dropdown, choose Token Faucets, then Token Airdrop.

  3. Enter the destination wallet address, the relevant base or quote faucet address, and an amount with decimals.

  4. Submit the token airdrop request.

Expected outcome

A request is submitted for devnet test tokens using one of the README’s listed faucets.

Guide limitations

  • The interface limits the amount to a maximum of 1,000 in UI amount.
  • These instructions cover obtaining test tokens, not executing a trade or deploying an application.
