Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when an application needs wallet-keyed collectible data from Ethereum and Solana for a gallery, portfolio or ownership display.
Who it is for
- Developers building wallet-based NFT galleries or portfolio views.
- Teams combining Ethereum and Solana collectibles in one application.
Documented uses
- Retrieve Ethereum collectibles for one or more wallet addresses.
- Retrieve Solana collectibles for one or more wallet addresses.
- Request both chains through one client method and consume results in a common collectible format.
- Configure OpenSea, Helius and Solana endpoints and related limits.
Requirements & limits
- The default Ethereum source is the public OpenSea API; Solana uses the mainnet RPC endpoint.
- OpenSea and Helius endpoints, API keys and limits can be configured, along with Solana RPC and metadata program settings.
- The output includes media links and metadata fields, but the library is a retrieval utility rather than a hosted display application.
- Supporting another collectible source requires adapting its output to the existing Collectible format.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Install the library and its Solana peer dependencies
Add @audius/fetch-nft to a project with the documented Solana packages.
Before you start
- A project using npm.
Steps
Install @solana/spl-token and @solana/web3.js if they are not already in the project.
Install @audius/fetch-nft.
Expected outcome
The package and its documented Solana peer dependencies are installed in the project.
Guide limitations
- These steps cover installation only, not application configuration or execution.
Retrieve collectibles for Ethereum and Solana wallets
Request wallet collectibles through the library's combined method.
Before you start
- The package and required Solana peer dependencies are installed.
- Ethereum and/or Solana wallet addresses to pass to the client.
Steps
Import FetchNFTClient from @audius/fetch-nft.
Create a FetchNFTClient instance.
Call getCollectibles with ethWallets and solWallets arrays for the wallets to query.
Expected outcome
The method returns Ethereum and Solana collectible state, with results organized by wallet.
Guide limitations
- The documented defaults use the public OpenSea API and Solana mainnet RPC.
- The guide covers retrieval; rendering the returned collectibles is an application task.
