Practical overview
When it fits
Use Quickfork when starting a local Foundry workflow for vulnerability PoCs on an EVM-compatible network and you can supply the required environment values and target-specific code.
Who it is for
- Smart-contract security researchers creating vulnerability PoCs.
- Developers who want a Foundry project structure for fork-based EVM tests.
Documented uses
- Organize target-specific interfaces and custom contracts in a Foundry project.
- Write separate Solidity test files for vulnerability PoCs.
- Run the tests with Foundry against configured forked network state.
Requirements & limits
The project is available as a public GitHub repository. Foundry is required.
- The documented workflow depends on Foundry and its forge commands.
- Users must provide the environment values and adapt interfaces, contracts, and network configuration to their target.
- The repository presents itself as a starting template rather than a final PoC.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Set up and run a Quickfork PoC test
Prepare the Foundry template, add a PoC test, and run the documented test command.
Before you start
- Foundry
- A cloned Quickfork repository
- Values required by .env.example
Steps
Clone the Quickfork repository.
Run forge install to download dependencies.
Copy .env.example to .env and fill in the required values.
Add interfaces and custom contracts under src/, then write a PoC test under test/ using test/TestPoc1.sol as a template.
Run forge test; the README recommends a separate TestPocX.sol file for each PoC.
Expected outcome
A Foundry test suite structured to run proof-of-concept fork tests.
Guide limitations
- The template is intended as a starting point, not a final PoC.
- The README does not demonstrate a working network configuration or test against a specific chain.
