Practical overview
When it fits
Use SDFX when a Comfy workflow needs a simpler, user-facing interface or a structured app description that can be shared alongside the workflow.
Who it is for
- Creators who want to put a higher-level interface over a Comfy workflow.
- Developers who package, inspect or share workflow-based AI apps and templates.
Documented uses
- Create an approachable interface for a complex Comfy graph.
- Connect UI components to workflow node widgets.
- Describe an application and its metadata in JSON for sharing.
Requirements & limits
The repository is public and identifies its license as AGPL-3.0. Installation instructions cover Windows, Linux and macOS; the README also describes web-app and native-app builds.
- SDFX relies on Comfy’s backend; it is an interface and workflow packaging layer, not a standalone model backend.
- The README describes integration with an existing local ComfyUI installation through the SDFXBridgeForComfyUI custom node.
- The documented app JSON includes UI mappings and workflow nodes and links, alongside metadata such as name and author.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
