Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when you want to operate an exchange flow directly in ADAMANT Messenger and can manage the server, database, blockchain connections and hot-wallet funds.
Who it is for
- Operators who want to run a chat-based crypto exchange on their own server.
- Developers configuring supported assets, rate sources, wallet infrastructure and exchange rules.
Documented uses
- Quote an exchange rate after a user requests a trade in chat.
- Check an incoming transfer’s sender, recipient, asset, amount and timestamp against blockchain and ADAMANT KVS information.
- Wait for configured confirmations and pay out the requested asset.
- Set fees, per-coin fee overrides, minimum values, daily limits and price guards.
Requirements & limits
The operator runs the software on a server. The README says the exchange flow runs in ADAMANT Messenger chats and does not require users to register an account.
- The operator, rather than a third party, manages and funds the bot’s hot wallets.
- The documented setup requires Ubuntu, Node.js, npm and MongoDB at specified minimum versions.
- Enabled coins require suitable node connections; ERC-20 payouts also require ETH for gas.
- The README lists ADM, BTC, ETH, DASH, DOGE, USDT, USDC, DAI and ERC-20 tokens, with some assets requiring compatible external nodes.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Install and configure the bot
Prepare the repository and configuration file for an operator-managed deployment.
Before you start
- Ubuntu 20.04 or newer; other operating systems have not been tested.
- Node.js 22.13 or newer and npm 10 or newer.
- MongoDB 4.4 or newer.
- A server and the relevant coin-node connections, InfoService settings and funded payout wallets.
Steps
Clone the repository and change into its directory.
Run npm ci to install the project dependencies.
Copy config.default.jsonc to config.jsonc.
Set the bot passphrase, node and InfoService connections, MongoDB details, enabled assets and exchange parameters in config.jsonc.
Expected outcome
A repository with dependencies installed and a deployment-specific configuration file prepared.
Guide limitations
- The documented steps cover installation and configuration, not running or validating a live exchange.
- The bot passphrase derives every wallet the bot controls; the operator must provide funded hot wallets, including ETH for ERC-20 payout gas.
