Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use Viewcomfy when a ComfyUI workflow needs a configurable user interface that can be presented as a shareable web app, rather than exposing the workflow only through ComfyUI’s standard interface.

Who it is for

  • ComfyUI workflow creators who want to present workflows through a guided web interface.
  • Builders combining multiple workflows or tailoring inputs and validation for app users.
  • Developers choosing between ViewComfy Cloud and other hosting services for workflow-backed apps.

Documented uses

  • Turn a ComfyUI workflow API JSON file into an initial user-facing form.
  • Choose and configure the inputs app users can provide, including media inputs and helper text.
  • Add image masks or, with the ViewComfy Utils node pack, workflow routing and custom validation.
  • Connect an app to a local ComfyUI installation or a deployed workflow endpoint.
  • Host and share a workflow-backed app, with additional app management features on ViewComfy Cloud.

Requirements & limits

  • The project is open source under AGPL-3.0 and uses TypeScript.
  • Local installation requires Node.js 20.18 or later, with 20.18 recommended.
  • The hosted editor’s documented path requires the workflow to be deployed on ViewComfy Cloud and connected by API endpoint.
  • Local Viewcomfy connected to a ViewComfy deployment requires dashboard-issued client credentials in a .env file.
  • Apps can be hosted on ViewComfy Cloud or another service; the repository cites a Modal hosting example.
