Practical overview
When it fits
Use it to study or adapt a local Ethereum farming demonstration when its documented mDAI deposit and ARG reward pattern is relevant.
Who it is for
- Developers exploring a token-reward farming contract and browser interface.
- Learners who want to follow a documented local Truffle and Ganache development workflow.
Documented uses
- Explore a farming flow in which mDAI is deposited for a period and ARG rewards are issued.
- Run the sample contracts and web interface against a local Ganache development network.
- Simulate ARG token issuance with the included Truffle script.
Requirements & limits
The repository is public and provides project installation instructions. MetaMask is required to interact with the React web app.
- The documented local stack is Truffle, Ganache CLI, a React web server and MetaMask.
- Deposits are described as mDAI and rewards as ARG; alternate token assets require contract changes and are not documented as tested.
- The README includes a separate script for simulating ARG issuance.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Set up the farming example on local Ganache
Prepare the local development network, deploy the contracts, and launch the web interface.
Before you start
- Project repository and dependencies
- Node.js package tooling
- Truffle installed globally
- Ganache CLI installed globally
- MetaMask browser extension to interact with the React app
Steps
Install Truffle and Ganache CLI globally, then initialize and install dependencies in the project directory as described in the README.
Start the Ganache development network.
Compile and migrate the Solidity contracts to Ganache using Truffle.
Start the web server and open localhost:3000 in a browser; connect through MetaMask to interact with the app.
Expected outcome
The README describes a locally served React interface connected to contracts deployed on Ganache.
Guide limitations
- This is a local development workflow; the instructions do not describe deployment to a public network.
- The documented farming assets are mDAI deposits and ARG rewards.
- Changing token assets requires modification; alternate pairs are not shown as tested.
