Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when building an application that needs Solana NFT account retrieval or parsing, particularly a wallet-based gallery or a React interface.

Who it is for

  • Developers building Solana applications that need to retrieve NFTs owned by a wallet or associated with an authority.
  • React developers creating NFT galleries or other interfaces that need NFT retrieval and parsing utilities.

Documented uses

  • Resolve a wallet address from a text value, including a Solana domain.
  • Fetch and parse NFT accounts for a wallet owner.
  • Retrieve NFTs by authority.
  • Use React hooks and utilities to integrate NFT data into an interface.
Before you choose

Requirements & limits

The project is published as a public GitHub repository and lists an MIT license.

  • The core package is designed for browser or Node.js use.
  • @solana/web3.js is required as a peer dependency alongside the core package.
  • The React package provides a separate, higher-level set of hooks and utilities for UI integration.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Retrieve parsed NFTs for a wallet

Resolve a wallet address or Solana domain, then retrieve that owner's parsed NFT accounts.

Before you start

  • A TypeScript or JavaScript application in a browser or Node.js environment.
  • Install @solana/web3.js and @nfteyez/sol-rayz; the former is a peer dependency.

Steps

  1. Install @solana/web3.js and @nfteyez/sol-rayz in the application.

  2. Import resolveToWalletAddress and getParsedNftAccountsByOwner from @nfteyez/sol-rayz.

  3. Pass a wallet address or Solana domain as the text value to resolveToWalletAddress.

  4. Pass the resulting publicAddress to getParsedNftAccountsByOwner.

Expected outcome

The example returns an array of parsed NFT accounts for the resolved wallet owner.

Guide limitations

  • This recipe covers owner-based retrieval; the repository also describes retrieval by authority but the example does not show its steps.
