Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when building a JavaScript payment flow that needs to discover routes from payer wallet assets to one or more recipient-defined token and amount requirements.
Who it is for
- Web developers integrating crypto payments into a checkout.
- Teams building payment flows that need recipients to specify accepted tokens, amounts and receiving addresses.
- Developers who want to limit eligible payer tokens or configure payment and protocol fees.
Documented uses
- Find routes from payer wallet assets to recipient-accepted payment terms.
- Represent multiple accepted payment options across blockchains.
- Restrict the tokens considered for routing with allow or deny lists.
- Configure payment fees and protocol fees in a route request.
Requirements & limits
The project is a public GitHub repository with an MIT license. The README documents installation through Yarn or npm.
- The library returns payment routes; the supplied documentation does not describe a complete checkout interface or guarantee route availability.
- The general package lists several dependencies, including ethers and decimal.js.
- The README lists Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Solana, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Gnosis, Optimism, Base and Worldchain, and provides EVM- and SVM-specific packages.
- Route configuration can include multiple accepted payments, token allow/deny lists, fees and protocol fees.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Install the library and prepare a payment-route request
Add the general JavaScript package and its listed dependencies, then structure a route request with accepted payment terms and payer addresses.
Before you start
- A JavaScript project using Yarn or npm.
- The @depay/web3-payments package and the listed dependencies: @depay/web3-constants, @depay/web3-exchanges, @depay/web3-tokens, ethers and decimal.js.
- Recipient token, blockchain, amount and receiver details, plus payer addresses for the relevant blockchains.
Steps
Install @depay/web3-payments with Yarn or npm.
Install the required dependencies listed in the README using the same package manager.
Import route from @depay/web3-payments.
Pass accepted payment conditions and payer addresses to route, following the README’s request structure.
Expected outcome
The documented function returns payment routes for the supplied acceptance conditions and payer addresses.
Guide limitations
- The README’s quickstart documents calling route and receiving routes, not execution or settlement of a payment.
- The returned routes and supported assets depend on the request; the documentation does not guarantee a route for a particular wallet or payment.
