Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use Mantis when you need a code-based workflow for evaluating Meteora DLMM positions and want to explore its decisions in paper-trading mode before considering on-chain execution.

Who it is for

  • Solana liquidity providers managing positions in Meteora DLMM pools.
  • Developers exploring or adapting automated liquidity-management agents.

Documented uses

  • Track watched pools and assess fee income relative to estimated impermanent loss.
  • Evaluate bin drift, pool volume signals and other on-chain conditions.
  • Simulate a proposed rebalance and pass actions through configured risk gates.
  • Run development-mode paper trading or a documented historical backtest.
Before you choose

Requirements & limits

The repository is public and identifies an MIT license. The documented development command defaults to paper trading.

  • It targets Meteora DLMM pools on Solana, rather than liquidity positions generally.
  • The documented setup uses Bun 1.2 and Docker Compose to start ChromaDB.
  • Its decision inputs include fee-to-impermanent-loss pressure, bin drift, volume authenticity and stored pool outcomes.
  • Risk gates can reject or limit proposed actions; their thresholds are configurable.
  • The README documents paper trading by default and separately identifies a setting for on-chain execution.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Set up Mantis for paper-trading development

Install the project, configure its environment and start its documented development mode.

Before you start

  • Bun 1.2
  • Docker Compose for the ChromaDB service
  • A local copy of the public Mantis repository

Steps

  1. Clone the repository and change into its directory.

  2. Run bun install to install dependencies.

  3. Run bun run setup and follow the interactive environment-file wizard.

  4. Start ChromaDB with docker-compose up -d.

  5. Run bun run dev; the documented default is paper trading.

Expected outcome

The development process starts with paper trading enabled by default.

Guide limitations

  • This setup guide does not describe enabling or verifying live on-chain execution.
  • Pool watchlist and strategy settings are configured through environment variables.
