Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use During mode while building new work, or After mode to audit agent-generated work that already exists. Pair it with a project design brief when the output also needs specific visual direction.

Who it is for

  • Developers using supported AI coding agents to build interfaces or generate code.
  • Teams that want to review existing agent output for generic design patterns, filler copy or noisy code.

Documented uses

  • Guide an agent during interface or code creation and receive a Delivery Gate report at the end.
  • Review existing work through numbered findings, approve which issues to fix, and receive a follow-up report.
  • Filter generic UI choices and filler copy without prescribing a project's colors, fonts or layouts.
  • Use a separate DESIGN.md to supply visual direction alongside Anti Slop's filtering rules.

Requirements & limits

The repository identifies the project as MIT-licensed open source.

  • Anti Slop filters; it does not provide prescribed colors, fonts or layouts.
  • During and After modes serve different stages of the work and produce different reports.
  • The documented installer and agent-specific plugin or package routes are not identical; consult the project guide for the chosen agent.
  • The project says Anti Slop does not update itself; installation route determines how updates are applied.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Install Anti Slop with its installer

Choose skills, installation scope and supported agents through the documented installer.

Before you start

  • An environment where the documented npx command can be run.
  • An AI coding agent supported by Anti Slop.

Steps

  1. Run the command below.

    Documented command
    npx antislop-ai
  2. Answer the prompts to choose skills, where to install them, and which agents to use.

Expected outcome

The installer copies the selected skill folders and writes a pointer that reloads Anti Slop each session.

Guide limitations

  • Installation routes differ by agent.
  • The installer covers twelve agents; the project documentation lists agent-specific installation routes.
Source-based practical guide

Set a default working mode

Save whether Anti Slop should guide work during creation or review work afterward.

Before you start

  • Anti Slop installed for an agent.
  • The documented npx installer command.

Steps

  1. Run the command below to save During mode, or use after for audits.

    Documented command
    npx antislop-ai --mode during
  2. Use the command below to restore the session-start question, or --mode alone to view the setting.

    Documented command
    npx antislop-ai --mode ask
  3. Start a new agent session after updating the installation.

Expected outcome

A saved mode preference is stored in the shared settings file and applies across agents and projects.

Guide limitations

  • Saving a preference is opt-in; without a settings file, the agent asks at the start of each session.
  • The documented settings-file locations are Linux and macOS at ~/.config/antislop/settings.json, and Windows at %APPDATA%\antislop\settings.json.
  • An explicitly requested mode in the current chat takes precedence for that session.
COMPARE OPTIONS
