Practical overview
When it fits
Use the axoned repository when you need the Axone node software or want to understand the network’s implementation and supported build targets. For validator setup, follow the linked Axone node documentation and network guidance.
Who it is for
- Operators maintaining an Axone network node
- Prospective validators preparing to secure the network
- Developers exploring blockchain-based AI workflow and resource-sharing applications
Documented uses
- Run a node for the Axone blockchain
- Maintain a functional node as part of validator operations
- Explore a blockchain protocol for defining rules around shared AI-stack resources
Requirements & limits
- Axoned is infrastructure software, rather than an end-user AI application.
- The repository identifies Go, Cosmos SDK and CometBFT as core implementation technologies.
- Linux and Darwin builds are listed for amd64 and arm64; Windows amd64 is listed as unsupported.
- Validator participation entails node uptime and sufficient AXONE stake, with block rewards and transaction fees described in the project README.
- The repository documents installation from releases, source or Docker, but network-specific operation guidance is in separate documentation.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Install axoned from source
Install the Axone blockchain node software from its source repository.
Before you start
- A Linux or Darwin system on a supported architecture: Linux amd64 or arm64, or Darwin arm64.
- The axoned source repository.
Steps
Obtain the axoned repository from https://github.com/axone-protocol/axoned.
From the repository, run the command below.
make install
Expected outcome
The source-based installation step for axoned has been run.
Guide limitations
- This installation step does not document node configuration, initialization, or running the node.
- Windows amd64 is not supported; Intel Darwin is not supported by the Nix development environment.
- The repository notes that supported targets depend on CosmWasm/wasmvm.
