Practical overview

When it fits

Use Solos when an MCP-compatible agent needs a command-line connection to Solana market reads or supported DeFi operations, and you can provide the wallet and RPC configuration those tasks require.

Who it is for

  • Developers connecting AI agents to Solana wallet and DeFi tools
  • MCP-client users who want an agent to query market data or interact with supported Solana venues
  • Builders creating agent workflows for swaps, lending, liquidity operations, transfers, or perpetual positions

Documented uses

  • Query wallet balances, portfolio state, token information, prices, and market research
  • Retrieve swap quotes and simulate or execute swaps
  • Access lending positions, rates, deposits, and withdrawals
  • Inspect and manage liquidity and perpetual positions
  • Expose Solana operations through an MCP-compatible agent client

Requirements & limits

The README documents global npm installation or a shell installer. Wallet and RPC configuration are required for operations; selected market and strategy functions require additional API keys or Engine settings.

  • The documented integrations differ by task: Jupiter for swaps and market data, Kamino for lending, Raydium and Meteora for liquidity, Phoenix for perps, and Pump for bonding-curve trades.
  • A Jupiter API key is needed for swap quotes and price reads; an Elfa API key is needed for market research.
  • Strategy tools require SOLOS_EXECUTOR=engine, SOLOS_ENGINE_URL, and SOLOS_ENGINE_TOKEN.
  • Transaction execution is a separate tier; execution tools simulate first unless the caller opts out.
  • The public repository specifies an Apache-2.0 license.

Source-based practical guide

Connect Solos to an MCP client

Install Solos, configure a wallet and RPC endpoint, and add it to Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.

Before you start

  • npm for the documented package installation, or use the provided shell installer
  • A wallet option: local keypair file, Privy, or a pay account
  • An RPC URL
  • A supported MCP client

Steps

  1. Install the CLI with the command below, or use the documented shell installer.

    Documented command
    npm i -g @solos-sh/cli
  2. Run solos login and select a wallet option, then provide an RPC URL.

  3. Run solos connect claude, solos connect codex, or solos connect cursor.

  4. Restart the client; use solos doctor to review setup or obtain an MCP entry for another client.

Expected outcome

The selected MCP client has a Solos entry and can request available Solana tools.

Guide limitations

  • The README specifies no default RPC endpoint; the user must provide one.
  • Execution tools require the execute tier; the initial server is read-and-simulate oriented.
